Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Bhubaneswar → Puri

Upon arrival at Bhubaneswar Airport or Railway Station, our driver will meet you and drive to Puri (approx 65 km / 1.5 hrs). Check-in at the hotel. In the evening, visit the world-famous Jagannath Temple (from outside for non-Hindus) and enjoy a beautiful sunset at Puri Beach. Overnight in Puri.

Day 2: Puri → Chilika Lake → Puri

Early morning drive to Satapada (Chilika Lake). Enjoy a thrilling dolphin watching boat safari. Visit Kalijai Temple located in the middle of the lake. Return to Puri in the afternoon. Evening is free for beach walk and shopping. Overnight in Puri.

Non-Hindus are not permitted inside the Jagannath Temple. However, visitors can view the temple from the Raghunandan Library rooftop opposite the main entrance, which offers an excellent view of the temple's magnificent Shikhara. The surrounding Bada Danda area is open to all.

What is the best time to visit Puri and Chilika Lake?

October to February is the ideal time. Chilika Lake is at its birding best from November to January when migratory birds arrive from Central Asia and Siberia. For the Rath Yatra festival, plan your visit in June or July.

How far is Puri from Bhubaneswar?
